Roadworks in and around Monaco

Riva Bella: Modified route on Avenue de Verdun

The roadworks that were interrupted for the summer season in order to cater for increased peak season traffic, have restarted, on the roundabout of Riva Bella in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The decision was made to also build a storm water network under the road, over a distance of 1km. The civil engineering works will be done in 2 phases, the first being completion of the roundabout to open the road to traffic as soon as possible, followed by the storm water system. The site will hopefully see completion sometime around December. This road caters for 20 thousand vehicles per day, including the most used public transport line: the bus 100.

As of Monday, the Avenue de Verdun will be a 1-way street (going down towards Menton) between the Massolin roundabout and the Police station. For those travelling on the lower part of the road (heading towards Monaco), it is required that you turn into Avenue du Général Leclerc, and just continue on down from there. For those taking the bus towards Monaco, the bus will turn at the intersection: Pasteur/François de Monléon and onto the coastal road.

Villa del Sol Construction Project: Introduction of One-Way Traffic in the Avenue Saint Roman

Construction work on the Villa Del Sol project will start in October 2016. To enable traffic to flow more smoothly in the Avenue St. Roman, a delivery area will be created on half of the road below the construction site.

The fencing of the site will be moved half-way across the Avenue Saint Roman to avoid the risk of materials falling onto the road below.
To ensure the safety of the construction site, a one-way traffic system will be implemented in the Avenue while the work is carried out, from October 2016 to December 2017.
