As always a lot of things happened in the Principality over the last week. And we selected for you 10 most interesting stories to keep you update on the events.

1. Galaxy Entertainment Group – new partner of SBM

“Invitation to travel”, the title given to the 2017-2018 Philharmonic season of Monte-Carlo where we will be listening to Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, Strauss’s Alpine Symphony, and explore collections from Germany, Russia, Scandinavia and America. Such is the decision for the second edition made by Kazuki Yamada, the orchestra’s director.

3. Odon artist, the “weaver of dreams”

Beginning April the 8th, the Palais de l’Europe is hosting the dreamlike universe of French visual artist “Odon”, known for his master skills braiding… paper; a discipline loved by children but often dismissed or overlooked by adults.

Recently two teams from the Women’s Sports of Monaco took part in the departmental championships of the Artistic Gymnastics Educational Circuits, a competition specifically for the youngest participants.

It represents a real starting point in the world of performance gymnastics, allowing trainers to observe their gymnasts and evaluate their progress. Beyond its playful allure, the competition is of great importance since its participants represent the sports future.

Shirley Veronica Bassey is an internationally acclaimed singer whose trademark, that propelled her into stardom, is her ‘larger than life’ voice. She lives a glamorous life till this day, residing in the glitzy Principality of Monaco, and is still remembered for her numerous hits, including three James Bond theme songs.

6. Boco: high gastronomy in a jar

“Boco” is the latest addition to the Principality’s gastronomic landscape: a premium fast food establishment conceived by Vincent Ferniot.

They opened the first “Boco” six years ago in Paris, and since then another ten in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Monaco is their twelfth location, “We are very proud to start this new ‘Rivieran era’ in the Principality”.

The Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the resplendent official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco, Prince Albert II, and of his wife, Princess Charlene and their twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.

Although Monaco has existed since ancient times, it wasn’t until 1191 that a residence was built – initially as a fortress of the Genoese granted by the German Emperor Henry IV to protect the coastline from pirates.

8. EVER 2017: Renewable Energies & Ecologic Vehicles Forum

From the 11th to the 13th of April the EVER Conference 2017 took place in Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum. It is a forum dedicated to ecology and renewable energy that showcases the best of latest sustainable transport and environmentally friendly projects. This is the 12th edition of the international conference that welcomes individuals and groups reunited under the common goal of creating a more sustainable environment – this year about 40 different stands from companies such as Honda, Renault, Kia Motors and Toyota were open to the public, including an array of outdoor activities on the theme.

9. Top 4 Monaco Princely news: Rotary Club of Monaco celebrates 80 years of solidarity

Some members came all the way from Parma to attend the event! On Tuesday evening, 260 people, most of them Rotarians and their spouses, gathered with Prince Albert II, honorary president of the Rotary Club of Monaco, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Monegasque club. Although the club is already quite old, it has enough experience to know how to stay eternally youthful: its president changes every year. Until June, Roland Marquet will lead projects focusing on health, professional action, education and youth. “How sweet it is to think that one can go around the globe, and meet people who share the Rotary ideal: lending their service to humanity.”

10. AMWC: The New frontiers of anti-aging

Thursday the 6th of April marked the first day of the three-day long AMWC event here at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. The building has been transformed to accommodate diverse companies showcasing exciting new skin technologies, highly esteemed guest speakers and an array of stands on the topic – all organised for this year’s Aesthetic and Anti-aging Medicine World Congress.
