Monaco Friends of Israel Gala celebrates creation of the new Association

Every year at this time, celebrations are organized in the Principality for the anniversary of the State of Israel, but this year, celebrations were extra-special because of the creation of the brand new ‘Monaco Friends of Israel Association’.  The association held a Gala Evening which also honoured of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel. The association already has several upcoming events planned, which will help maintain ties of friendship between Monaco and Israel.

The event was attended by His Excellency Prince Albert II and the Ambassador of Israel to Monaco, Aliza Bin-Noun. The Ambassador believes that the Principality is truly important for Israel, the friendship and cooperation between Israel and Monaco and the Prince is very much appreciated by the Jewish population. Aliza Bin-Noun commended the Prince’s commitment in regard to the fight against anti-semitism. Two weeks ago, the Prince commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day, an act which was appreciated by the ambassador, Israelis and the Jewish population around the world.

The Monaco Friends of Israel Association has many projects in store. It hopes to organize a new forum about cybersecurity in conjunction with the University of Tel Aviv and work with the Monaco Economic Board during another economic mission to Israel.  The MEB organized an economic mission in June 2017 to Israel, which is home to the most start-ups per capita in the world.  Numerous entrepreneurs from Monaco travelled to Tel Aviv, including the Principality’s start-up incubator, MonacoTech.

Franck Biancheri, President of Monaco Friends of Israel, explained that the association’s main goals are simply to tighten the links of friendship between the state of Israel and Monaco; and above all, to profit from the links which already exist in the fields of education, culture, economy and innovation.
