Prince Albert II and Mayor Georges Marsan congratulated the 68 winners of the 2025 Monegasque language competition in the main courtyard of Monaco City Hall on June 16. The event began with the Monegasque anthem, sung by the U Cantin d’A Roca choir, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Sovereign presented awards to the best students from each year group. Then, five students took to the stage to present a comedic play in Monegasque and French, with artificial intelligence as its theme.
Over 1,910 students, from Year 5 to Year 13 at the Charles III and François d’Assise-Nicolas Barré (FANB) secondary school participated in the written exams, which took place from May 12 to 14, with the oral exams ending on Friday, June 6.

This week, we met exclusively with Prince Albert of Monaco on the sidelines of the annual Monte Carlo Television Festival. Who is the man behind the role of head of state? Princess Charlene attends Akris ‘Women with Purpose’ Luncheon with Robin Wright
Princess Charlene supported the luxury fashion label’s ‘Women with Purpose’ lunch at the Café de Paris on June 16. The concept, launched by Albert Kriemler, artistic director of Akris, continues the legacy of Alice Kriemler-Schoch, who founded the brand in 1922.
American actress Robin Wright was in attendance. The ‘House of Cards’, ‘Forrest Gump’,’Princess Bride’ star received the prestigious Crystal Nymph from Princess Charlene during the festival’s closing ceremony on June 17 at the Grimaldi Forum.
Prince Albert II inaugurates the New Monaco Addiction Care Centre
The Sovereign visited the new Monaco Addiction Care, Support and Prevention Centre (CSAPAM) located in Fontvieille. Accompanied by Christophe Robino, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and Dr. Alexandre Bordero, Director of Health Action, Prince Albert II inaugurated the new centre, headed by Dr. Jean-François Goldbroch, a psychiatrist specialising in addiction.
The establishment is aimed at Monaco’s employees, residents, students, or citizens aged 15 and over with addiction issues. The Centre focusses not only substance addiction (alcohol, tobacco, narcotics) but also gambling and screen addiction. The new CSAPAM offers free consultations, guaranteed anonymity, and walk-in appointments.
Prince Albert II inaugurates New National Archives Headquarters
The Sovereign visited the Directorate of the National Archives of Monaco’s new premises in Fontvieille June 16, accompanied by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, who is currently serving as Minister of State. The press was invited to tour the new premises afterwards. It took nearly four years of work to create a legal framework, build an organisation, renovate the premises and assemble a team for the Central Archives and Administrative Documentation Service, which is now a Government Archives Service. The Directorate is located in 500 m² of renovated premises in Fontvieille (with a second real estate phase under consideration for the next three years). The Directorate is responsible for all archives of public interest, a concept defined by the sovereign ordinance of March 25, 2021.
Princess Stephanie announces “Retirement” from Public Life
In a recent interview with Point de Vie magazine, Princess Stephanie announced that she will be gradually withdrawing from public life and passing on her commitments to the next generation. The interview took place during anniversary celebrations for the Maison de Vie, which supports people living with HIV. Princess Stephanie, now 60 years old, created Fight Aids Monaco over twenty years ago. Now, her 26-year-old daughter, Camille Gottlieb, may be the one to take up the torch for the Fight Aids charity.
Princess Charlene helps 100 Students during Water Safety Day
Water Safety Day took place in the presence of Princess Charlene on Larvotto beach on June 17. Created by the Princess Charlene Foundation and developed with the Monegasque Academy of the Sea, the event saw 100 fifth and sixth-grade students learn rescue techniques through five workshops led by professionals. The attendees took part in practical exercises at sea as well as theoretical learning, with workshops ranging from handling buoys to coastal rescue techniques and an introduction to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Pierre Frolla, world record holder in free-diving and ambassador for the Foundation, led the demonstrations alongside several of the Foundation’s sports ambassadors, including: Jérôme Fernandez (handball), Kevin Crovetto (gymnastics), Antoine Zeghdar (rugby), Marine Simonis (freediving) and Julien Lalanne, a coastal rescue specialist. The day concluded with an “Ocean Race” combining swimming, sprinting on the sand and a rescue paddle relay.
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attend Corpus Christi Celebrations
The Princely couple celebrated Corpus Christi on June 19 in Monaco. The Roman Catholic observance is a tradition upheld by Monaco’s Princely Family. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene viewed this year’s Corpus Christi celebrations and procession from the balcony of the Prince’s Palace.
Princess Caroline, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra attend Coco Chanel Exhibition Opening
The Princess of Hanover and her daughters, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra, and Ben-Sylvester Strautmann attended the opening of ‘Les Années Folles de Coco Chanel’ at the New National Museum of Monaco’s Villa Paloma. The summer exhibition explores Gabrielle Chanel’s “abundant production in the specific context of the Côte d’Azur in the 1920s”. The exhibition features over two hundred objects, including textile creations and emblematic works which pay tribute to Chanel’s distinctly visionary approach in her invention of the “new woman”. The exhibition runs until October 5, 2025.
