Princely Couple Inaugurates New Maternity Wing at Princess Grace Hospital Centre
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene inaugurated the new maternity wing of the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) on Thursday 16 April 2026. After unveiling a commemorative plaque in the obstetric emergency room, the Princely couple, accompanied by Christophe Mirmand, Minister of State, toured the new facilities.
The new wing is the last step in completing the CHPG’s new Mother-Child Centre, offering comprehensive, innovative, and family centred care. Another facet of the new centre is The new parent-child unit, which Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene inaugurated at the end of March. Parents can now remain present 24 hours a day to support their baby throughout hospitalization.
Princess Caroline attends Order of Malta Ball in Paris
The Princess of Hanover attended the Ball of the Order of Malta, at the Cercle Interallié in Paris on 11 April 2026. It was the first gala held for the Order in Paris since 1967, a year when Princess Grace of Monaco presided over the ball. The event was held to benefit the Order’s 68th pilgrimage to Lourdes. For the occasion, Princess Caroline wore a sparkling indigo gown by Jenny Packham, paired with Cartier sapphire jewellery that belonged to her grandmother, Princess Charlotte. Prince Guillaume, Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg, and their children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Paul Louis, also attended the event.
Princely Palace celebrates 70th anniversary of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly’s Wedding
The Prince’s Palace of Monaco will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the “Wedding of the Century” by hosting an exhibition from 8 June to 15 October 2026. Housed in the State Apartments of the Prince’s Palace, the exhibition will revisit behind-the-scenes glimpses of the wedding through photographs, films, dresses, accessories, gifts, and personal documents.
To accompany the exhibition, the Monaco Stamp Office will be issuing a commemorative stamp on 8 June in a vertical format (30 x 40.85 mm), printed using offset printing and limited to 40,000 copies in sheets of ten.
Prince Albert II inaugurates Nice Airport’s Terminal 2 Extension
The Sovereign participated in the inauguration of the expansion of Terminal 2 at Nice’s Airport on Monday 13 April 2026. The extension increases the capacity of France’s second largest airport to 18 million passengers per year. The airport inauguration took place in the presence of Philippe Tabarot, Minister of Transport, Laurent Hottiaux, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Éric Ciotti, Mayor of Nice, and many other officials. The extension added 23,000 m² of surface area, or a 30% increase in space for passengers.
Prince Albert II attends Second Evening of Green Shift Festival at the Yacht Club
The second evening of the 4th Green Shift Festival brought together field actors and environmental thinkers on Friday 10 April at the Yacht Club, organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The Sovereign attended the Engaged Happy Hours event, where several local projects were presented, including Les Petites Cantines de Beausoleil, environmental projects by Monaco’s City Hall, and the Écoletopie educational experience by Stéphanie Marin, conducted with the New National Museum of Monaco. The evening also featured a conversation between Rob Hopkins, leading figure in the Transition Towns movement, and architect and oceanographer Jacques Rougerie.
