The 20th annual Monaco Goût et Saveurs

The 20th Goût et Saveurs, sponsored by Prince Albert II, took place at the Aurore restaurant. After the arrival of the Prince, welcomed by an applause and a quick photo on the town hall square, the evening unfolded within the restaurant. It was a beautiful opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of Jean-Mary Rizza, founder of the association. His dear friend and co-worker, Joël Garault, made a speech about their many years of cooking in the Principality.

Since the creation of the Monaco Goût et Saveurs in 1998, 15,200 students have benefited from lessons in cooking, tastes and flavours. Monaco is the only place in the world that hosts an event like Goût et Saveurs. In twenty years, the association has come a long way by educating children about produce, the environment and healthy eating habits.

On Friday 15 June, Prince Albert II visited Île Saint-Honorat in the bay of Cannes with Monsignor Bernard Barsi, Archbishop of Monaco. He was welcomed by Father Vladimir Gaudrat, abbot of the monastery, and Brother Vincent, archivist, who presented the restoration of the Saint-Sauveur chapel, which was recently completed, and to which the Sovereign personally contributed. Princess Stéphanie awards Midwives from Côte d’Ivoire

Two midwives from Côte d’Ivoire are being trained this month at the Princess Grace Hospital. Four Monegasque associations, including Fight Aids Monaco, set up this new project, which aims to improve the effectiveness of maternal care in Côte d’Ivoire. Princess Stéphanie presented diplomas to Caroline and Marceline, the two midwives from Côte d’Ivoire. The CHPG has had exchanges with Africa in the past, including a partnership with a hospital in Senegal. The mutual exchange with Caroline and Marceline demonstrates a desire on both sides to promote midwifery and to reduce maternal and infant mortality in countries around the world.
