In this article we will tell you all about the ten best terraces in the Principality with a great view of the Formula 1 races.

One of the most significant and symbolic events for Monaco, the Formula-1 Monaco Grand Prix is about to start. Thousands of tourists from all over the world come to the Principality to see the legendary race. Many hotels, restaurants and residences in Monaco rent out their terraces for the duration of the event. We have made a compilation of terraces offering the best view of the famous track.

Shangri-La is located in Port Hercule. It has several terraces offering stunning views of the finish line, and an exceptional panorama of the Rascasse and the bay. From this viewpoint, you can see pit-stop boxes where race cars undergo their maintenance. The building is located on Princess Grace street, right next to the Formula-1 track.

Heracles Palais

Heracles has terraces on its different floors and the roof top terrace. The guests thus have an exceptional opportunity to watch the start line of the Formula-1. The Caravelle residence has the most favourable position with a view of the Sainte Devote turn. Here you can easily see the slope of the Formula-1 track, the huge screen, the exit from the tunnel and the Rascasse turn. These terraces offer an 80% view of the total track. The Beau Rivage terrace on Avenue d’Ostende offers one of the best views of the race. That’s where you can see the drivers bring their cars to the ultimate speed and overtake their rivals, which is a very difficult task elsewhere on the track. From here, you can clearly see the start/finish line, Sainte Devote turn, the huge screen on the Avenue d’Ostende and the Rascasse turn.

The Panorama

The Panorama is located at the corner of Sainte-Devote and offers breathtaking views of this legendary part of the route, the port and the casino. The two terraces on the 12th and 16th floors are open to the public. They offer a view of the Sainte-Devote turn, the Casino road, the famous chicane in the port and the pool side entrance.

Today most of these terraces are likely booked, but you can try your luck and find a place through their managing agencies.

During the Formula 1, many cafes and restaurants located in close proximity to the track are also renting out their terraces. La Rascasse is an ideal place to watch the race cars fly over the Rascasse turn. From 25 to 28 May, guests are welcomed here starting from the morning, with a special finger-food breakfast followed by a music programme featuring different DJs. The most speedy racing cars driven by their legendary drivers just a few steps away from your table will make your morning even more exceptional. Finally, on the day of the main race, on Sunday May 28 the Grand Prix lunch menu at Pavyllon Monte-Carlo will consist of starter, main course and dessert and will cost 1250 euros for adults.

L’Hirondelle

Enjoy a delicious, nutritious lunch between races at L’Hirondelle. This year, Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo is inviting guests to join them for the occasion, and serving a delicious, nutritious lunch from 26 to 28 May 2023!

On Friday 26 May the proposed three-course menu for 150 euros for adults includes ½ bottle of water, ½ bottle of wine and coffee.

On the final day of the Monaco Grand Prix, on Sunday 28 May, you can enjoy at L’Hirondelle a glass of Champagne on arrival, taste a set menu: 3 courses with ½ bottle of water, ½ bottle of wine and coffee, have a refreshment break: tea, coffee, fruit juice and petits-fours and a glass of Champagne to toast the victory.
