The Meridien Beach Plaza – Monaco’s only hotel with a private beach

The Meridien Beach Plaza is part of the Marriott group. This is the only hotel in Monaco inviting its guests to chill on a private beach. It is conventienly located next to the renovated Larvotto beach and the Grimaldi Forum – a traditional venue for concerts, shows and exhibitions all year round.

The hotel’s residents can thus easily plunge into the Principality’s vibrant nightlife – the legendary Twiga, Jimmy’s and Sasscafe are just a stone’s throw away. This is the venue for the epic Formula-1 Sunset party – a favourite with famous racers, stars and supermodels. During the racing weekend, the beach and hotel restaurant are  transformed into an open-air nightclub with its own stage and VIP tables.

The Hotel’s history

The Marriott Group purchased the Meridien brand from Starwood in September 2016. The hotel was last renovated some four years ago. You can tell that the Meridien Beach Plaza’s management truly loves contemporary art. The hotel’s lobby boasts some pretty remarkable works by popular artists, designers and photographers. This exposition is renewed every month, revealing new talents.

In June 2021, some large-scale artistic graffiti was made on the concrete wall separating the private beach area; this graffiti is a true “gift” from the world-famous street artist, Pakras Lampas. This remarkable work was the talk of the local media and the international community.

Accomodation

The Meridien features 397 rooms in 5 different categories (Classical, Deluxe, Design, Executive and Rooftop), all offering stunning panoramas of the Mediterranean. The suites are modern and functional, designed by Kristin Taser in natural pastel colors. The hotel particularly prides itself on its luxurious penthouse presidential suites, with truly fantastic panoramic views of the sea and the Principality.

The Meridien Beach Plaza is an around-the-clock hotel inviting you to spend all your time using its facilities. A private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre with a state-of-the-art TechnoGym and a sauna are all at your service. The hotel is a popular venue for business congresses and forums. Its 3,000m2 Sea Club Conference Center has the capacity to accommodate up to 2,000 participants. 14 modular halls can be transformed pursuant to the event’s purposes.

Restaurants and bars

The open-air “Alang” lounge-bar treats you to exquisite cocktails, a special organic menu, a BBQ and a shisha. The summer restaurant “Muse”, set up in the shade of southern pines, is a perfect choice for a late brunch or a business lunch.

The” L’Intempo” offers gastronomic tours by world-famous chefs. In 2022, a renowned 2 Michelin star chef and the trendsetter in the field of authentic Catalan cuisine, Serge Arola, joined Laurent Colinotel’s culinary team. The sommelier Dominique Milardi and maître d’hotel Antonio Foci are there to assist you in choosing the best wine pairings. These professionals will tell you about delectable wine from Corsica, Piedmont, Tuscany and Spain. The restaurant’s terrace “Longitude 7°26′” is eminently suitable for a romantic dinner by the sea. Its menu favours local seafood and fish prepared by the chef on the open grill. L’Intempo and Longitude 7°26′ are open all year round.
