Weekend in Monaco with #hello_monaco

Theater and music, sports and charity events… looks like this weekend has everything… And HelloMonaco prepared a few suggestions for you on how to spend your weekend.

This weekend in Monaco there are all sorts of different sports event. Today started Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series Act I, organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco from Friday 20 October to Sunday 22 October in Baie de Monaco.

In line with the YCM’s proactive sailing policy, and initiated for the Melges 20 class in 2013 by Valentin Zavadnikov, then the J/70s, the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series offers a monthly programme alternating high level regattas and training weekends for onedesigns.

The format has caught on and today some 500 sailors from all over Europe establish their winter training base in the Principality to prepare for the upcoming season’s big meetings.

Monte Carlo

Another interesting event is The European Women’s Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2017 taking place in Monaco, from 20th to 24th October, 2017, in the Hotel Novotel.

The event will be played according to the Swiss system, in 11 rounds, with the time control 15 minutes game + 10 seconds per move starting from the first move.

The total prize fund of the event is 8.250€ + 5000€ ACP prizes, as well as the category prizes.

AS Monaco vs. Caen

And don’t forget about French Premier League Football Championship Day 10: Monaco – Caenon Saturday 21 October at 5 pm, Stade Louis II.

In theater this weekend there is a Show — “The Squat” by Jean-Marie Chevret performed by the Studio de Monaco on Saturday 21 October, at 8.30 pm and Sunday 22 October, at 4 pm Théâtre des Variétés.

And another performance called “You May Not Kiss the Bride”, a comedy by and with Alexandra Moussaï and Arnaud Schmitt on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 October, at 8.30 pm, Saturday 21 October, at 9 pm and Sunday 22 October, at 4.30pm at Théâtre des Muses. Reservations are available here.

Christmas concert by OPMC

And the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra continues its Great Season Series with a concert conducted by Juraj Valcuha with Erika Sunnegardh, soprano, Julia Gertseva, mezzo-soprano, Peter Mikulas, bass baritone, Ludovit Ludha, tenor and the Slovak Philharmonic Chorus on Sunday 22 October, at 6 pm in Auditorium Rainier III.

On the programme: Leos Janacek and Sergei Rachmaninov. As a prelude to the concert, an introduction to the works at 5 pm by André Peyrègne.

Eglise Sainte-Dévote

A defferent concert, of organ music, by Olimpio Medori, official organist of the San Filippo Neri Church in Florence, as part of the In Tempore Organi, IIIrd International Organ Cycle will take place on Saturday 21 October, at 8.30 pm Eglise Sainte-Dévote.

On the programme: Frescobaldi, Pasquini, Scarlatti, Galuppi, Albinoni and Vivaldi.

Eglise Saint-Charles

If you like helping people in Eglise Saint-Charles there will be a Charity sale organised by the St. Vincent de Paul Society for the disadvantaged and people in need Friday 20 October, from 10 am to 6.30 pm and Saturday 21 October, from 9 am to 1.30 pm.

Funfair in Port de Monaco

If you have kids, then visit the Funfair in Port de Monaco which starts today, on Friday 20 October and runs till Sunday 19 November.

Located at Port de Monaco, the Fun Fair, planned by the Events Department of Monaco’s Town Hall, is awaited impatiently by all, each year. This attraction takes place during the school break of All Saints when about 80 stands, merry-go-rounds and amusements set up around the port area.
