A New Energy Source Floats In the Vicinity of the Yacht Club at Port Hercule

In a groundbreaking ceremony attended by dignitaries and officials, the Yacht Club de Monaco revealed a cutting-edge addition to Port Hercule: a floating pontoon equipped with a hydrogen generator. This innovative installation, adorned with solar panels, is set to make waves during the upcoming 11th Energy Boat Challenge from July 1st to July 6th.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, this year taking place from 1 to 6 July 2024, is a race with an ambitious finishing line: not just getting there first, but utilising alternative propulsion systems that reduce environmental impact. These could be solar energy, hydrogen, electricity and other renewable energy sources. The competition, which will see the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, has attracted 46 teams from 25 countries, with 31 universities involved.

Monaco’s new Espace Lamartine, which opened its doors last year, is hosting an open house for 16-23 year olds on Saturday 23 March 2024 from 12 pm to 9:30 pm. On the program: activities, sports challenges, games, dances and a musical evening with a DJ.

“An opportunity not to be missed to discover this new space, full of activities and good times!” states a press release by Monaco’s Town Hall.

With International Women’s Rights Day fast approaching, the government has revealed its exciting plans for the occasion. This year, all advocates will converge at the Espace Léo Ferré for a dynamic program featuring captivating performances.

The announcement came at the end of January during the fifth plenary session of the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights. Céline Cottalorda, the interministerial delegate, shared details of the major event scheduled for March 8th. It’s a collective effort to showcase the extent of dedication to women’s rights. The day will be filled with conferences, workshops, and stalls hosted by various associations and services, and in the evening, an enthralling show.

At the start of the 2024 season, sailing world’s eyes will be fixed on the Principality of Monaco this weekend where top international one design teams will be competing at the 40th Primo Cup-Trophée UBS. Over the years, this regatta has left its mark, attracting big names in sailing and becoming renowned as a testbed for trying out new boats, kit and equipment, raising the Monegasque race area’s status to that of a laboratory of innovation.

Launched in 1985 at the instigation of YCM President HSH Prince Albert II, the regatta has established itself as a major European one design gathering in the Mediterranean. The more than 30-year partnership with technical clothing supplier Slam, alongside UBS, and support from Monaco’s City Council, has contributed to its quality and prestige.

On Thursday, February 29, 2024, H.E. Mrs. Valérie BRUELL-MELCHIOR, Ambassador of Monaco to France, presented her letters of credence to Mr. Emmanuel MACRON, President of the French Republic, during an official ceremony at the Elysée Palace.

During a private meeting, Ambassador BRUELL-MELCHIOR assured President Macron of her commitment to continue and promote the excellent relations between the Principality of Monaco and France, with the full support of the Monaco Embassy in Paris.
