The Sovereign Prince travelled to South Africa to help protect rhinos and to protect endangered wildlife

On 21st July, Prince Albert attended the 8th Rhino Conservation Awards ceremony in Johannesburg, where he had been the sponsor since 2014, rewarding individuals and organizations working for the conservation of rhinos, particularly threatened by poaching. In his address, Prince Albert recalled the great challenge of preserving biodiversity, while a million species could, according to the latest IPBES report, disappear. Prince Albert also spoke at the Species on the Move conference in Kruger National Park on 23rd July, which brought together nearly 300 scholars from around the world. The fight to save endangered species requires a better understanding of the ecosystems themselves and the challenges they face. The Sovereign concluded by inviting all to see the current environmental crisis as an opportunity to act for a sustainable future.

Princess Stephanie Celebrates the Sixth Anniversary of the “Baby and Nepal association” to Protect Threatened Elephants

To celebrate the sixth anniversary this July of the creation of the association “Baby and Nepal”, about fifty people, including caretakers of Baby, found themselves on the slopes of Mount Agel, close to the Principality, surrounding Princess Stephanie and her beautiful happy elephant called Baby. Alerted by the threats of euthanasia that swept the elephants Baby and Nepal, Princess Stephanie rescued them in 2013. Unfortunately, last year, Nepal died from chronic kidney failure. Baby is thriving happily and was seen munching away at a birthday treat – a fruit bowl which included her favourite bananas.
