Prince Albert II receives Gold Medal from the SEP in Paris
Prince Albert II was awarded a gold medal by the Society for the Encouragement of Progress (SEP) in Paris on 7 October. The award, known as the “French Nobel Prize” was presented by Jean-François Roubaud, president of the SEP, an institution created in 1908. The medal honours the Sovereign’s actions in favour of humanity and the environment
AS Monaco unveils Official Photo with Prince Albert II
The ASM recently unveiled its official photo for the 2024-2025 season in front of the Prince’s Palace, alongside Prince Albert II. The official photo ceremony took place in the Court d’Honneur of the Princely Palace with the entire team, including General Manager Thiago Scuro and coach Adi Hütter. This is a particularly significant season, as the Club is celebrating its centenary. The season is off to an incredible start, with 6 wins and 1 draw, bringing the ASM to the top of Ligue 1!
Prince Albert II makes Historic visit to Belfort
Prince Albert II visited Belfort, in Northeastern France, on Thursday 3 October. After being welcomed to the Town Hall by Mayor Damien Meslot and President of the Departmental Council, Florian Bouquet, the Sovereign Prince unveiled a ‘Grimaldi Historic Site’ plaque at the entrance of the town.
The Prince was then welcomed to the Alstom site, where he was presented with the group’s renewable hydrogen projects and the new TGV M engines, embodying the future of rail transport. The day ended at the Belfort Citadel, where the Sovereign took in the panoramic view of the Territoire de Belfort.
Princess Caroline celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment in Montauban
The Princess of Hanover visited Montauban for the 50th anniversary of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment (RGP) on 4 October. Celebrations began with a mass at the Saint-Jacques Church, followed by a rhythmic procession to the Place Nationale, led by Army Corps General Jouslin de Noray. Patron of the regiment since 2012, Princess Caroline’s attendance at the event symbolized the bond between the regiment and the Princely Family of Monaco.
Princess Caroline and Her Daughters attend Prince Pierre of Monaco Prize Ceremony
The Princess of Hanover, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra attended the awards ceremony for the 2024 Prince Pierre Foundation prizes on 8 October at the Monte-Carlo Opera Garnier. Princess Caroline, President of the Foundation, awarded the prizes while Arnaud Merlin, journalist for France Musique, hosted the event.
This year’s winners were Mathieu Belezi (Literary Prize), Mokhtar Amoudi (Discovery Grant), Cécile Tlili (High School Pupils’ Favourite Choice), Hans Abrahamsen (Musical Composition Prize), Paul Novak (Young Musicians Favourite Choice) and Souleymane Bachir Diagne (Principality Prize).
Prince Albert II attends the Mediterranean Congress in Sicily
Prince Albert II travelled to Palermo to participate in the meeting of the International Commission for Scientific Exploration of the Mediterranean Sea on 13 October. Received at Palazzo Chiaramonte-Steri by the Rector of the University of Palermo, Professor Massimo Midiri, the Prince presided over the meeting in the presence of members of the office.
The objective of the meeting was to provide an update on recent activities of the Commission and explore new opportunities to strengthen scientific cooperation around maritime issues in the Mediterranean. Following the meeting, the Sovereign Prince and his delegation visited the Palazzo Steri, a historic building dating from the 14th century.
