Princely Couple rides Bikes during Charity Race from Saint-Tropez to Monaco

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attended the 11th edition of the COCC race, organized by the Champagne & Oyster Cycling Club of Monaco, in support of the Princess Charlene Foundation, on 27 April. About 100 participants raced from Saint-Tropez to the Principality.

Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Princess Charlene Foundation and Princess Charlene’s brother, participated in the event, cycling 130 km in under five hours. Prince Albert II also took part in the challenge, hopping on his bike to accompany cyclists for the final few kilometres of the race, from Beaulieu-sur-Mer to Monaco. He was later joined by Princess Charlene. During the closing speeches, a tribute was paid to Eddie Jordan, Formula 1 driver and loyal supporter of the event, who passed away in March. 

Chair of Les Smileys Monaco carries on Princess Grace’s Legacy

Les Smileys Monaco association provides support and comfort to children hospitalized or in stressful situations in Monaco. The association is chaired by Joëlle Bacrot-Bardos, who was involved with the World Association of Friends of Children (AMADE), created in 1963 by Princess Grace. AMADE’s branch in Monaco closed in 2019. The association currently has 42 volunteers working in various healthcare facilities across the Principality, including the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG), the Cardiothoracic Centre and the fire department. The goal is to help children, as well as their families, by providing comfort during times of stress and anxiety related to medical care. With the support of Princess Caroline, Les Smileys Monaco was created in April 2021.

Prince Albert attends ‘The Guardian Angels of Monaco’ documentary about Grand Prix Marshals

Marshals from the Automobile Club de Monaco gathered for an exclusive premiere of the film “Les Anges Gardiens de Monaco” in the presence of Prince Albert II at the Grimaldi Forum on May 1. Fifty years ago, in 1975, the famous orange jumpsuit was born. Documentary writer Yann-Antony Noghès and director Franck Florino shine a spotlight on the volunteers who ensure the safety and smooth running of the Monaco Grand Prix. The documentary is narrated by Charles Leclerc. It will be broadcast to the public on Saturday, May 24 on Canal+.

Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline attend Esultate premiere about Monte-Carlo Opera

Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline attended the premiere of Esultate (Rejoice) documentary at the Opéra Garnier on Saturday, April 26. The four episode documentary series is directed by Frédéric Laurent and his son Jérémie and tells the story of the Salle Garnier, which opened in 1879, and all the greats who have graced its prestigious stage. Jean-Louis Grinda, Stéphane Valeri, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï and Lionel Beffre, as well as many other Monegasque personalities were among the 400 guests.

The first episode is 64 minutes long and covers the first 72 years of the Opera, when over 80 operas were created. The series was produced with the support of the Société des Bains de Mer, which provided access to numerous historical documents from its archives, including 149 digitized programs. Esultate is from Verdi’s Othello and is renowned as one of the most famous entrances in all opera.

Princess Charlene presides over “Respect Day” Rugby Awards

Princess Charlene, accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, presided over the “Respect Day” rugby awards ceremony at the Charles III College amphitheater on April 29. William Servat, coach for the French XV, was one of the event’s sponsors and presented the Six Nations Trophy. Alongside him, Gaëtan Boissard, fitness coach and Mathieu Brauge, manager of the national team, offered 8th grade students a fascinating look behind the scenes of professional rugby.

Princess Charlene presented awards to the best women’s and men’s teams. She was gifted a French national team jersey bearing the signatures of all the players. Princess Charlene is the President of the Monegasque Rugby Federation.

Prince Albert II and Louis Ducruet inaugurate Stade Louis-II 40th Anniversary Exhibition

Prince Albert II, Louis Ducruet and Gérard Holtz, renowned sports journalist and curator of the exhibition, celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Stade Louis-II with the “Il était une première fois ” immersive exhibition on April 27. Located in the pedestrian gallery, which was completely renovated for the event, the retrospective portrays the Stade Louis-II’s sporting and cultural history through fourteen display cases.

Following an official ceremony on February 4, this exhibition is the second 40th anniversary celebration. Among the exceptional pieces on display are the athletic spikes worn and loaned by Prince Albert II, a combat outfit worn by Monegasque boxer Hugo Micallef, the two Olympic torches that crossed the Principality (Grenoble 1968 and Paris 2024), and the first broken seat in the Gaston Médecin hall signed by the Roca Team. The exhibition runs until October 31, 2025.

Prince Albert II speaks at the Monaco Clean Fusion Forum at the Yacht Club

With the support of Prince Albert II and his foundation, Monaco hosted the second Monaco Clean Fusion Forum, an international event dedicated to advances in fusion energy, at the Yacht Club de Monaco on April 28. Executives, researchers, and industrialists from around the world gathered for the day of discussions. At 10am, Prince Albert II took to the stage to speak about the importance of nuclear fusion as a key technology for achieving a sustainable and carbon-neutral future.

During the event, Alpha Ring, a global leader in micro-fusion, unveiled its Fusion AI Data Centre. The centre gathers experimental, theoretical, and simulated data from researchers, academic institutions, and industrial partners around the world to create a unified platform powered by artificial intelligence with the goal of fostering international collaboration and accelerate progress toward sustainable and accessible fusion energy.
