Recently, the explorers aboard the Monaco ship, Yersin, left Macaronesia where researchers had been working since the end of August to embark on an Atlantic crossing towards Martinique. The Yersin, the oceanographic ship of the Principality of Monaco arrived on October 24 2017, in the port of Fort-de-France.
In his general policy speech, given on 1 November 2017 on the occasion of the 39th session of the UNESCO General Conference, Mr. Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, announced the signing of a collaboration agreement with UNESCO to strengthen the activities of the World Heritage Marine Programme.
