A suspect has been arrested and remanded in custody following the theft of jewellery worth an estimated more than €1 million from an elderly Monegasque resident, according to a statement released by Monaco’s Office of the Prosecutor General (Parquet Général).

The theft took place on 14 July, when a man allegedly posing as a police officer succeeded in stealing the jewellery from the victim. The official statement does not provide further details of how the fraud was carried out, focusing instead on the subsequent investigation.
