 89th Monte-Carlo Rally

January 18–24, 2021

 89th Monte-Carlo Rally
@ acm.mc

The Automobile Club de Monaco has disclosed the route of the 89th edition of the Monte Carlo Rally in advance of this next January. This will also be a noteworthy anniversary, the 110th of the event being held on January 21 to 24, 2021. There are important new features, just reported, impacting much of the course compared to 2020 for what is the major opening round of the World Rally Championship (WRC). Gap still remains a major focus of the Monte-Carlo Rally in 2021. Expect though a permanent return to the foot of the Rock in 2022.

The competitors will set off around the prefecture of Hautes-Alpes on Thursday 21 January for the traditional nocturnal pair of special stages. This is evidenced in particular by the 2nd stage (Friday 22 January) completing the reunion with Drôme Provençale, near the Col du Perty and Chalançon. The next day (Saturday, January 23), the crews will crisscross the Massif du Valgaudemar. The final special stage of each of these two stages will be contested later, using headlights. That’s a total of four «special» nights — an important innovation.

24th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique

January 30 – February 3, 2021

24th Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique
@ acm.mc

There will be no Concentration Leg for the 24th edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, and only one starting city: Monte-Carlo! However, the itinerary that was drawn up for the actual race will be as diverse and as difficult as ever, following the recommendations of the Organizing Committee at the Automobile Club de Monaco. A whole pack of Regularity Stages is on the menu, as always, since they have remained the main features of this special rally and they help to figure out easily which crew really deserves to win. The Historic version of the world’s most ancient road rally is reserved to cars that have entered at least one Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo between 1911, the year when it was created, and 1983, so that a greater number of models are allowed to enter the 2021 edition. The change was made also in order to please numerous car collectors who asked for this evolution.

Last but not least, in keeping with tradition, the Gala Night and Prize Ceremony will happen on the evening of Wednesday February 3 in the Salle des Étoiles of Monte-Carlo Sporting Club (evening dress/dark suit/black tie requested).
