Princely Family launch the 26th Taste Week

The 26th edition of Taste Week was launched by Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene and their children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, at the Hôtel Hermitage on 15 January. Children from different schools across the Principality were introduced to this year’s two ingredients, chosen by Michelin-starred chef, Joël Garault.

Later in the week, students received a visit at school from Monaco’s well-known chefs for workshops about gastronomy. All CE1 and CE2 students were also given an educational booklet from the event (800 booklets were given out this year, whereas 400 were given out last year). One student per class will be awarded a prize for imagination and creativity by the greatest chefs in the Principality.

Prince Albert II speaks at Switzerland’s World Economic Forum

The Sovereign gave four speeches during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Prince Albert II delivered the opening speech during ‘The Ocean Race’ round table. John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and Peter William Thomson, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean, also participated in the round table.

During the event aimed at entrepreneurs, banks and decision-makers from around the world, Prince Albert II had the opportunity to speak with Dorin Recean, Prime Minister of Moldova, during a bilateral meeting. During his second day in Davos, Prince Albert II made a speech about the blue economy, defined as sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth while preserving the health of ocean ecosystems.

Camille Gottlieb responds to Deadly Road Accidents in Monaco in 2023

After the Principality’s particularly deadly year in 2023 with regards to road accidents, Minister of State, Pierre Dartout, announced that Be Safe deserves to be better supported.

Camille Gottlieb founded the Be Safe association in 2017 to bring people home safely after a night out. 450 people were brought home safely during the summer of 2023 thanks to the Be Safe Monaco shuttle, which is in operation between 1 am and 6 am.

A deadly road accident in the Louis-II tunnel last year left three young people dead. According to Camille Gottlieb in a recent interview, she felt a mixture of anger, sadness and guilt because the shuttle was not running that night. Soon after, Be Safe launched a collaboration with Twiga to pay a dedicated driver for the Be Safe shuttle. Be Safe has also renewed a solid partnership with the International University of Monaco to make its shuttle available during student evenings.
