Monaco’s Employment Sector is Growing

The Labour Directorate recently presented the first Employment sector statistics available in the in the Principality:

➢ 49,693 employees as of 31 December 2017 compared with 47,919 as of 31 December 2016,
an increase of +3.7% in the number of employees (+ 1,774 employees);
➢ 87.7 million hours declared as of 31 December 2017, an increase of + 2.8%;
➢ 30,425 job offers filed as of 31 December 2017 compared with 25,955 as of 31 December 2016, an increase of +17.22%.

These offers are mainly found in the building sector (40% of the offers), in the trade sector (13,50%) and to a lesser extent in the hotel and restaurant sectors (9% of the offers) and tertiary sector (9.2% of offers).

These positive indicators are a testimony to Monaco’s economic vitality.
