The Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival is one of the most important musical venues in Monaco. This unique event has been held in the exceptional atmosphere of the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo, under the high patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco since 2006. The jazz festival is famous for its versatile program. This year you can enjoy hits by such famous performers as Jethro Tull, Melody Gardot, Chilly Gonzales, Richard Galliano and many others. This jazz festival is famous for being open to innovations, while cherishing Jazz traditions and artistic creation. It is constantly evolving, drawing inspiration from music all around the world.

The 23th No Finish Line event organized by the association Children and Future starts on 12th November, at 2pm finishing on 20th November 2022. No Finish Line® is a charity event that has been held in Monaco since 1999. Under the patronage of His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince Albert II, the race is open to all runners and walkers, whether or not they are members of a running club. The principle is quite simple and open to all, and involves running or walking as many laps as you wish on a 1400 metre track, which is open 24 hours a day for eight days. Participants are free to run or walk for just an hour, or do a marathon every day, whether alone or as part of a group. Thanks to the registration fees, donors and sponsors, for every kilometre run or walked, Children & Future donates €1 to support efforts to help disadvantaged or sick children. If you wish, you can also pledge €1 for every kilometre you intend to run or walk. 

Club Vivanova’s Luxury Lifestyle Black Tie Gala

The Club Vivanova 2022 Luxury Lifestyle Charity Gala is to be held on Saturday 12th November at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo. The black-tie evening begins with a Premier Cru Champagne aperitif, after which club partners, members and guests enter the ballroom for a gourmet dinner with fashion show, live entertainment with the Alexander Miller Quartet, a registered charity auction and then an after-dinner party and show, with DJ and dancing. This year expected are around 400 guests in attendance. Club Vivanova donates to needy charities. The event is head-lined as “Turning Luxury Into Charity” as the gala attracts entrepreneurs and local and international business people that want to actively network, whilst enjoying a beautiful dinner. Attendees can support three local charities (the Chances for Children Foundation, the Borneo Wildlife Fund and Mimosa) through a live charity auction. In six consecutive and annual editions the galas have raised over €200,000. This event offers critical funding for the three charities.

The Monegasque National Day, also known as the Sovereign Prince’s Day or ‘La Fête du Prince’ in French, one of the most important holidays in the Principality, traditionally takes place on November 19th. It is an official day off in the Principality. On this day, the tradition is that Prince Albert II with his family greets people from the windows of the Palace. The Prince carries out a presentation of medals in the Courtyard of the Palace. And on the main square of the country there is a military parade. All members of the princely family, as well as other officials, are present at the events.

In the prestigious Salle des Arts at One Monte-Carlo, a great closing evening will be held bringing together all the Michelin-starred chefs from Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Alain Ducasse, Marcel Ravin, Yannick Alléno and Dominique Lory will, hand in hand on this occasion, create a dinner, made up of their Signature dishes. 20th Golden Foot award

The Golden Foot is a prestigious international award given every year, since 2003, to the best of all champions in football history. The award can be won only once and in order to be among the Golden Foot candidates, the candidate athletes, in addition to still having to be active, must be at least 28 years old. Every year, along with the main prize, the Football Legends and the Prestige award are awarded too. The Prestige prize and Legends are chosen by the Golden Foot Commission. Starting from the 2022 edition there will also be the awarding of the prize to women football players, which is why the Golden Foot Commission has drafted the list of the 50 candidates eligible for the women’s prize.

‘Made in Japan’ is a unique event offering the opportunity to get familiar with the products, information and culture of Japan in Monaco. In the first edition in 2020, it managed to unveil its ambition and future direction thanks to the collaboration of many people and visitors, despite the health crisis. For this third edition, the organizers are preparing a new opportunity for visitors to discover yet more oriental delights and revisit unique traditions with all their Japanese spirit.

Your participation at €2,50 can help in children’s development through educational, cultural and therapeutic outings. It also makes it possible to improve their daily lives by financing personalized projects such as the purchase of medical or transport equipment, and the development of suitable spaces.

The 91st Monte-Carlo Rally, the inaugural stage of the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) is from Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd January 2023, around the Principality of Monaco. More compact geographically, but still very selective, the rally route — with 50% of the itinerary being modified, compared to 2022 — will have new features and a high number of difficult challenges, thanks to a series of very demanding special stages in the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

The 45th annual International Circus Festival in Chapiteau Fontvieille will be stunning with its incredible attractions: acrobatic stunts, performances by world star circuses and fun tricks. This event, founded during the reign of Prince Rainier III, traditionally closes with the most prestigious circus award ceremony, the Golden Clown. According to tradition, the jury is chaired by Princess Stéphanie who is also the Festival’s president.

Celebrations for Sainte Dévote, patron saint of Monaco, take place on January 26th and 27th. These celebrations are one of the oldest traditions in the Principality of Monaco, a tradition that has permeated the national culture in fields as diverse as religion, folklore, popular belief, history, literature, arts, painting, music, numismatics and philately. The tradition, which has held a privileged place in the hearts of Monegasques for centuries, comes from the “Legend of Saint Devote” found in a medieval document. Since 1874, the tradition has continued every year: a boat is burned in the presence of the Sovereign and the Princely Family, accompanied by Monegasque personalities. Once the boat is burned, there is a firework display at Port Hercule. On the 27th of January, the feast day, a solemn Mass is celebrated in the Cathedral by the Archbishop of the Diocese. The Princely Family, the Prince’s Government, the elected assemblies, important institutions and members of the public attend this ceremony.

Organized by the Monaco Automobile Club, the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally 2023 will include cars similar to the models that competed in the Monte-Carlo Rally up to its 51st edition in January 1983. Menton and lemons are inseparable! Not only is this fragrant fruit cultivated in the city, but the annual festival featuring giant lemon and orange sculptures seems to bring them to life. The Lemon Festival in Menton traditionally hosts fruit parades, light shows, street animations and fairs. Its 2023 theme is “Rock & Opéra”. The Lemon Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and included in the inventory of intangible cultural heritage in France in 2019.

The one-day event dedicated to several worlds — manga, comics, animation, video games and pop culture — returns to the Principality with its sixth edition. Always related to the central manga themes, the video games, comics, the animation and the cinema are of a rich variety and abundant. The event has a reputation for exceptional programming. MAGIC (Monaco Anime Game International Conferences) organized by Shibuya Productions, will take place at the Grimaldi Forum on February 25th-26th. MAGIC offers various conferences and round-table debates with famous international game designers, producers, screenwriters and illustrators interacting with the audience. The most anticipated event of the day is the Cosplay Competition, featuring some of the best international cosplayers. Cosplay is a blend of the words costume and play as people dress up as their favourite video game or comic book character and act out various scenes from their respective universes.

Monte-Carlo Ocean Week

During the next edition of the Monaco Ocean Week, from 20th to 26th March 2023, local and international experts, the scientific community, the voluntary sector, and public authorities will once again unite in the Principality of Monaco. When the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation was created in June 2006, Monaco immediately adopted solid commitments with respect to the protection of the environment. The Foundation also created the Monaco Blue Initiative (MBI) in 2010: a thinktank where members focus on current and future global ocean management and conservation issues. The MBI is held every year in the framework of Monaco Ocean Week, a week of debate, analysis and awareness-raising to better understand the challenges facing our future Ocean.
