Prince Albert discusses One Year of Covid in Monaco

One year ago, on 17 March 2020, Prince Albert II first announced the historic implementation of a lockdown in the Principality to combat Covid-19. One year later, the Sovereign Prince came back in front of news cameras to discuss how the Principality has been managing the crisis since then. On Monaco Info, the Prince spoke about the pandemic’s trying times, how he feels after contracting the virus, spending quality time with his family, the environment, the economy and Monaco’s future.

Ms Isabelle Rosabrunetto, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, took part by videoconference in the sixty-fifth session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

In her speech, Ms Rosabrunetto emphasised that women’s participation in decision-making and in the economy, as well as the elimination of physical and psychological violence against women, are essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Ferrari remains one of the strongest brands in the world. We associate it with winning, nothing less. 

So with the SF 21 making its mark in early trials in Bahrain, fans were prepared to put Ferrari’s nightmare year of 2010 quickly behind them. 

Both the trials and the qualifying had all the signs of a comeback. Ferrari’s young lead Monegasque driver Charles LeClerc has the winning touch and in qualifying came up with the fourth fastest time. That turned wise heads and called for applause. Fourth fastest – since when has Ferrari been content with fourth fastest?

Monaco Telecom announced a joint agreement with Phoenix Tower to purchase more than 815 wireless cell towers. The company was in the process of acquiring newly built wireless towers for six years throughout Malta and Cyprus through a build-to-suit program.

At a public meeting on Tuesday, 23 March, the Municipal Council unanimously approved the idea of cooperation between the Italian municipality of Dolceaqua and Monaco who will become twin cities. 

This agreement was a result of mutual respect between the two communities. This link-up also shows the common desire of the Mayor of Monaco, Georges Marsan, and the Mayor of Dolceacqua Fulvio Gazzola, for mutually beneficial cooperation with respect to the development of their communities. 

Soon on the horizon one can look forward to the revival of ancestral and historical ties.

After 23 years of work, the nine-time World Rally Champions, Sébastien Loeb and Monegasque Daniel Elena have stopped working together as driver and navigator. Dakar 2022 will pass without Daniel Elena. This decision was made by the Prodrive team.

Monaco Scientific Centre and CHANEL have signed a partnership agreement to create a Precious Coral Biology Research Unit. The goal is to develop fundamental research programmes to improve our understanding of some key red coral life processes in order to protect the species.

Mindful of the need to protect the oceans, CHANEL Jewellery is committed to conservation of the Mediterranean red coral used in jewellery and is teaming up with Monaco Scientific Centre to create the Precious Coral Biology Research Unit. Chanel is keen to pursue sustainable development and environmental protection initiatives that are consistent with its business.
