Amazing Launch of the First Monaco E-Kart Championship

Seven years after having designed Kart Indoor Monaco – whose eighth 100% electric season is in the starting blocks on the Parking des Pêcheurs circuit – Monegasque Clivio Piccione and the MEKC team are preparing to launch the first edition of Monaco E-Kart Championship. The kick-off will take place during three “detection-trials “ weekends scheduled from November 13 to 28, intended to offer three “Volant MEKC 2022”, one per age category, for the 12 city races scheduled for next year in the Principality. Races will extend from Monaco, to France and Italy too.

The Grimaldi Forum has unveiled a long-awaited full schedule of activities and culture for all audiences to enjoy. The diverse 2021/2022 program has something for everyone, with over twenty events on the agenda and more surprises to be expected along the way, with the some additional shows and concerts already in the works.

“It is the great return of the live performance for the pleasure of the public,” the Grimaldi Forum states on their website.

An anti-pollution exercise took place late Wednesday morning, October 27th, around the refueling station at Port Hercule. This exercise, the first of its kind at this location, brought together all the entities concerned for this type of intervention. 

The scenario was designed to simulate an oil spill as a result of improper handling by the crew of a ship being bunkered.

After a difficult year for everyone, the Monaco Red Cross was able to lift people’s spirits during the traditional Grande Braderie, a fundraising bazaar, on 22-23 October at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille.

Two days of activities and bargain shopping with luxury clothing, accessories and unique finds (as well as entertainment, games and a raffle) made up for the event being cancelled last year due to the pandemic. A record-breaking amount of almost €100,000 was raised for the Monaco Red Cross. An astounding 1,250 raffle tickets were sold before the prize draw.

In three years, the Principality has built first-class digital infrastructure to enhance quality of life and increase the attractiveness of its economy. The goal is to make Monaco a leading city state in the digital world.

On 25 October, H.S.H. Prince Albert II shared a review of the Principality’s digital transformation and outlined the future prospects of the Extended Monaco programme over the next few years, in a new world where the use of digital technology has increased considerably in response to the health crisis. The presentation, held at the Théâtre Princesse Grace, was attended by His Excellency Mr Pierre Dartout, Minister of State, Mr Stéphane Valeri, President of the National Council, government ministers, Mr Frédéric Genta, the Country Chief Digital Officer, and a number of other representatives from Monaco’s political and economic life.

It is definitely the most influential literary figure in Italy, father of modern Italian language and identity, as well as a remarkable source of inspiration for international poets and writers. Dante Alighieri, the ‘Sommo Poeta’ (Supreme Poet), is a milestone and his allegorical-instructive poem, the ‘Divina Commedia’ (Divine Comedy) represents a cross-section of Italian Medieval social, economic and political life.

The Italian Embassy to the Principality of Monaco and Dante Alighieri Cultural Association in Monaco have just devoted a whole week of events to pay tribute to Dante in the 700th Anniversary from his death in the framework of the 21st Week of the Italian Language in the World. A series of concerts, conferences and meetings have been held to best promote the Italian heritage and strengthen the inter-State relations between Italy and the Principality.

The star was invited to the annual Monte-Carlo Gala for Planetary Health and the long-awaited premiere of the latest film about James Bond, “No Time to Die”. However, the reason for the celebrity’s visit to the Principality is not just the gala receptions, but also her long-standing friendship with Prince Albert II.

Good News for all Americans who are getting newly enthusiastic about Formula 1 Grand Prix racing. Following this month’s impressive win by Verstappen over Hamilton and just as impressive fourth place by Charles Leclerc (in a sub-optimal Ferrari) at the Circuit of Americas in Austin Texas – there will be two US F1 Grand Prix races in 2022. The second one will be in Miami.

Thales is joining forces with the Monaco Cyber Security Agency to help the Prince’s Government, public services and critical infrastructure operators improve their cyber security.  The group is supplying a range of cutting-edge cyber technologies to Monegasque stakeholders.

With cyber risks becoming an ever-increasing threat, the Principality of Monaco took action on the issue in 2016, when legislation aimed at countering high-tech crime was adopted. Today, the Monaco Cyber Security Agency is working with Thales on the implementation and interaction of cutting-edge cyber security technologies to improve the digital security of the Government and various institutions, businesses and critical infrastructure operators in the country.
